Hi, I am Kassie and I started 10 years ago here at King St Vets as a trainee nurse to now where I am the Head nurse and Educator.
I became a vet nurse all those years ago as I have always had a deep love for animals, whether it be trying to save orphaned duck eggs off the airfield where my Dad works, at 5 years’ old. Loving on every animal I saw and being that creepy person down the street that must stop and say hello to every dog. I was extremely fortunate as a kid to experience many breeds of animals, like ducks, chickens, birds, dogs, cats and even goats.
Since starting all those years ago King Street, it has enabled me to grow and gain experience in all areas of nursing. They have supported me with all my goals, even now, with starting my own little family. My position here has allowed me to become my own person and my colleagues have become like family.
I enjoy the day-to-day roles of being a nurse and training our amazing nurses that we have here at King St Vets. I get much satisfaction knowing the knowledge and steps I have taken has saved the life of an especially important family member. Yes, there is times when we say goodbye to those furry family members, but I am very lucky to have that amazing support system within the clinic and at home.
